For over 30 years a group of players have been getting together to play hockey on Tuesday Nights. This has now involved into a competitive game of dark vs white comprised of middle aged men trying desperately to keep the game going..
The Iron League is about guys wanting to get together to play a game they love and spend time with friends they enjoy! While the skate may be competitive at times and angers may get tested, it is always about getting a little exercise understanding the game must have a winner. The highlight of Tuesday nights for many players is heading to Hutch's (yes that Hutch's) after the skate for Chicken wings and good conversation with the guys.
The players have come and gone over the years and many have faced challenges. The Iron League is about being there for each other! Being A Teammate to those that need it! That is why we are skating this year, and every year, as long as we are able to skate and fight this Disease. We want to show every person fighting, or helping or watching a loved one fight, that we are there too. While playing hockey for 11 days (or 3 hours) is Nothing compared to what battling cancer is, we will try to help in the battle in however way we can!
