Yes, this is personal! In August 2021, Jason was a healthy 21 year old about to start his 1st Class year (Senior Year) at the US Naval Academy who was looking forward to his final collegiate year as Captain of the Navy Ice Hockey team. About a week before the start of the semester, he was diagnosed with leukemia. After a tough battle, he flew ahead after being pinned with Naval Aviator Wings on November 27, 2016 due to complications related to his treatment protocol. We are determined to raise awareness for Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) since today there are ZERO specific treatment protocols for this age group and the mortality rates have actually gotten worse over the last 25-30 years. The rate of cancer for AYAs is increasing worldwide - without a dedicated focus to drive improvements for AYAs, their outlook is dim once diagnosed. We MUST do MORE!

WE need your support! For the 7th year, we are once again sponsoring 2 teams playing in the #11DPP Community Shift this summer. It will be a grueling three hour shift but nothing compared to what cancer patients endure. Please support us to #PutCancerOnIce. Proceeds of the event will support cutting-edge research and wellness programs at Roswell Park, Make-A-Wish WNY, Camp Good Days, Roswell Park and Oishei Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Program and The Petey Fund.
