11 Day Power Play

Ryan Coyne

We need your support! I am playing in #11DPP Community Shift this summer for the FIGHTING FALCONS. It will be a grueling three hour shift but nothing compared to what cancer patients endure.

We have all been affected one way or another by the big "C." Over the last two years my life, my family has been directly affected and incredibly challenged. Very shortly after my dad lost his terminal battle, my wife was diagnosed with Her2- Breast cancer. The road ahead seemed impossible to not only fight the biggest fight of our lives but somehow raise our two toddlers to the best of our ability.

Although we try not to ask for much help, it took some time but we truly learned NO ONE can fight this battle alone. AND NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO! Obviously with the help of our moms basically moving in, our family, friends, and the incredible cancer support out there (especially #Roswell), we were and are able to overcome this unbearable obstacle. As my wife and mother of two is now in recovery mode, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter each day!

Being able to see first hand the help and support that is out there from events such as this, we are more than honored and privileged to be a part of something so powerful to help the next person in need. When it comes to the big "C," NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!

So please support me to #PutCancerOnIce and reach our goal. Proceeds of the event will support cutting-edge cancer research and wellness programs at Roswell Park, Make-A-Wish WNY, Camp Good Days and Roswell Park and Oishei Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Program.

THANK YOU!!!! #Victoriastrong
