I will be participating in the 11 Day Power Play again this year!

Leading into this year I have a prime example of how the money raised helps fund research. At my yearly appointment I had asked about genetic testing to see if I carry any genes that may be linked to certain types of cancers. With my own personal history and my family history I did qualify for the testing....a bit nerve-wracking waiting for the results--but all 71 genes tested came back negative! A big sigh of relief for sure and bit shocked to be honest. My grandfather was diagnosed with breast cancer at 40 years old. So advocating for mammograms once I turned 30 was a big priority for myself but also a battle with insurance, but was able to get it approved. Early detection and any screening we can do really helps. I'm so thankful we have these advancements and continue to gain more and more insight. I'm blessed to be where I am today and I have the utmost gratitude to Roswell. Any amount donated really does add up and I am truly thankful!

Please support me to #PutCancerOnIce.

Proceeds of the event will support cutting-edge research and wellness programs at Roswell Park, Make-A-Wish WNY, Camp Good Days and Roswell Park and Oishei Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Program.

Together, we can make a difference in the fight against cancer!
