This summer, I’m lacing up once again for the 11 Day Power Play Community Shift, and I’m asking for your support as I skate in honor of my parents, Mike and Rosalie McCartney, whose lives are at the heart of why this cause means so much to me.
I am also skating in memory of my father-in-law, Emil DiNardo, who passed away in September 2025 from lung cancer. Honoring him alongside my parents is a reminder of how many families carry the weight of this disease.
My dad passed away in 2019 from a rare and aggressive cancer and was the one who sparked my love for hockey. My mom passed in early 2025 and was a breast cancer survivor who strongly supported the 11 Day Power Play and its mission to help families facing cancer.
If you’re able, I’d be grateful for your support as I skate in their memories. Funds raised benefit Roswell Park, Make-A-Wish WNY, Camp Good Days, Oishei Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Program, and The Petey Fund.
