I’m skating in the 11 Day Power Play to raise money for cancer research — a cause that means so much to me. My grandfather died from cancer before I was born, and even though I never got to meet him, people in my family tell me stories about how he was a fun person and how much I would have liked him. That pushes me to do it for him. Cancer has taken too many lives, and I’ve seen how deeply it affects families.
