The 11 Day Power Play/Community Shift,
Yes, that is right. I was invited to participate in the 2026 11 Day Power Play, an 11-day marathon hockey game that raises money for cancer research and wellness programs. The marathon begins on June 17.
Donations raised will benefit cutting-edge cancer research and wellness programs at Roswell Park, Camp Good Days, Make-A-Wish Western New York and The Roswell Park and Oishei Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Program. In the past four years, The 11 Day Power Play has raised more than $$10 million for cancer causes in our community.
We have all had family and friends who have suffered from this dreaded disease. Personally, I have seen too many who have battled and suffered from cancer, including my brother, mother, daughter, and very close friends.
I am a member of a team called The Thursday Night Cancer Crusaders. Sixteen skaters from the Buffalo area have agreed to play for our team. Our game will be played on June 23 at 3:00 p.m. at the Harbor Center.
Each member of our team has committed to raise $500.00 but I hope to raise more. Any support, large or small, that you can give, will help us reach our goals. Together, we can continue to make an impact in the search for a cure, and better the lives of those living with cancer. Thank you for supporting me!
