I am proud to support an amazing group of ALL-FEMALE WNY hockey players competing Saturday 6/20 at 6-9AM. Come watch the future of Girls hockey in our region play as one.
I will also play a shift myself with a group of friends I have been privileged to know since childhood. This shift will also be on Saturday 6/20 at 9-12AM. Long day for a great cause.
Cancer touches us all and I am no exception. I lost my father David Fox in March of 2019. He passed his love for the game of hockey on to me through the many sacrifices that it takes to raise a young player. I carry that legacy on through coaching and enjoying watching my daughter Ellen grow as a player and a person. Additionally, my 2nd family, the Staerker's, have been deeply affected by cancer having lost my 'brother' and dear friend Bobby and his father Robert. The matriarch of the family, Chickie, is a cancer survivor and a pillar of strength and compassion for all who know her. Most recently, my brother-in-law Dave just began his courageous battle. I play in support of Dad, the Staerker family, Dave and all whose lives are affected by this disease. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against cancer!
Proceeds of the event will support cutting-edge research and wellness programs at Roswell Park, Make-A-Wish WNY, Camp Good Days, Roswell Park and Golisano Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Program and The Petey Fund.
