This summer, I am proud to be participating in my eighth 11 Day Power Play Community Shift. This year, the cause hits even closer to home. A very close family friend of mine was diagnosed with liver cancer. Despite this, he has shown incredible strength and resilience, refusing to let this diagnosis define him. He continues to fight with courage and determination, and I couldn’t be more inspired or proud of him. I know he can beat this!
The 11 Day Power Play is an event where participants, like myself, skate in shifts to raise money for cancer research and wellness programs. I will be skating for a grueling three-hour shift—but it's nothing compared to what cancer patients endure every single day.
Proceeds from this event will support amazing organizations like Make-A-Wish WNY, Camp Good Days, Roswell Park and Oishei Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Program and The Petey Fund.
Please consider making a donation to support this cause and honor those who are fighting or have fought cancer. Every dollar makes a difference.
