Raising money to fight cancer and supporting local wellness programs has been a passion of mine since participating in the original 11 Day Power Play back in 2017. Your support has been amazing! During these last 4 years, I have had many more friends and family diagnosed with various forms of cancer (as have most of us).
This year, I am one of forty players playing in the world's longest hockey game outside in the elements. 252 straight hours of hockey! Proceeds of the event will support cutting-edge cancer research and wellness programs at Roswell Park, Make-A-Wish WNY, Camp Good Days and Roswell Park and Oishei Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Program.
I am skating for my many friends and family who had a rougher year in 2020 than the rest of us. Can you imagine being diagnosed with cancer in a pandemic! I am happy to know that 2 of my friends beat cancer in 2020 but many others are still fighting.
I am also skating to honor my incredible teammates the last 3 years in the Community Shift. Especially the ones not selected to play in this years outdoor event. I love you guys. You have made a huge impact with your work and dedication and look forward to skating with you in the next event.
Thank you for your support! Let's Puck Cancer Together!
