Hey everyone! I am once again participating in and supporting the 11 Day Power Play! Most people who know me know that I was battling testicular cancer in the second half of 2021, and thanks to the fantastic care I received at Roswell Park I have been cancer free since 12/31/21!
When I was initially diagnosed, it was by a random urologist's office in the beginning of August 2021, who said that they weren't concerned and would get me in at the end of August for surgery and that there was no need for me to meet with any oncologists. At the end of that week I met with a Dr from Roswell who told me "you should have been on the operating table already - I want to see you in the OR on Monday". The post-op biopsy confirmed that it was an extremely aggressive cancer, and if I would have waited until the end of the month then my outlook would have been drastically different.
During my care at Roswell I underwent three rounds of chemotherapy and am so beyond thankful for the amazing staff at Roswell for their fantastic care and personality, making my experience the best it could be (given the circumstances).
With all of that, I am beyond excited that this will be my third time playing in the 11 Day Power Play as I will also be celebrating three years of being cancer free.

I need your support! I am playing in the #11DPP Community Shift this summer. It will be a grueling three hour shift but nothing compared to what cancer patients endure. Please support me to #PutCancerOnIce. Proceeds of the event will support cutting-edge research and wellness programs at Roswell Park, Make-A-Wish WNY, Camp Good Days and Roswell Park and Oishei Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Program. In 2024, we're excited to announce a new annual fund we've established to award a deserving nonprofit that supports cancer wellness programs in Western New York.
